Abrahams Tent currently services the Randwick Hospital campus, with the vision of expanding to other hospitals in time.
TRANSPORT
Whether you are a patient going to the hospital for an appointment or procedure, or a family member needing to be by a patient's side, Abrahams Tent will assist you with transportation at a pre-arranged time.
Our team of trained, caring and dedicated volunteers will ensure your ride is smooth and pleasant.

ACCOMMODATION
A self-contained fully furnished apartment, stocked with everything you would need.
Located close to the Randwick hospital campus, a ‘home away from home’ – a quiet place where family and carers who have a loved one receiving treatment or enduring a medical procedure can stay and recover their emotions in a private setting. A shower, a load of laundry, a warm meal, a comfortable bed to rest in, or even just somewhere close by to stay will help during this challenging time.

MEALS
There's nothing like a freshly-cooked, homestyle meal to say "we care."
At Abrahams Tent, we deliver Kosher, delicious, and nourishing meals to family members or carers of patients in hospital. All food is prepared in our kitchen and infused with love, then delivered to the hospital to feed their bodies and fuel their spirits so they can focus on healing for their loved ones.
We gladly accommodate dietary restrictions so that everyone can be nourished and nurtured during their medical journey.
ADVOCACY
Medical advice given to a patient can at times be confusing and overwhelming, particularly in complex conditions.
Abrahams Tent will assist by providing suitably qualified professionals to accompany the patient, and/or family to consultations. This ensures all information received from the medical specialist is noted, so as to provide a clear basis for future decision-making.
We will also connect you with our network of healthcare professionals and can advocate on your behalf when necessary.
SHABBOS
Being away from home over a Shabbos can be a lonely experience.
If you are spending time with a loved one in the hospital over Shabbos or Chag, you can still experience a meaningful experience. We have partnered with The Soul Centre, which will be hosting weekly Shabbos services and Kosher & delicious Shabbos meals.
CHAPLAINCY
Our (male & female) Chaplains provide Pastoral care to patients, families, and staff, providing a listening ear, comfort, spiritual guidance and prayers when requested.
We will also help with end-of-life matters, including assistance with a Jewish burial and Rabbi to officiate a funeral when needed.
CARE + SHABBOS PACKS
A care pack with essentials to make your hospital visit more pleasant, delivered throughout the week.
Our Shabbos Kit, a gift pack containing electric candles, challah, grape juice, Kiddush cup, and pastry, is distributed each week before Shabbos, or prior to Yom Tov, to patients and carers in Hospital.
Friday night is usually a special time, however, being in the hospital at the end of a week of procedures or tests can often leave patients feeling lonely. Visiting and gifting a care pack simply lifts their spirits and morale, bringing smiles and sometimes tears, that say “you are thinking about me”.
SUPPORT
Abrahams Tent will do our best to support you in whichever way is needed whilst a loved one is in hospital, including connecting you with existing services within our community.
